I’ve tried using comic sans for something that should suit it perfectly — a children’s game interface — it still looked awful. Every time I see it applied to something, that thing immediately loses credibility for me. It could be just me and others may not react that way.
Well thought out typography and layout can be appreciated even by the untrained eye. When people use comic sans they don’t really think about layout and typography. That makes the use of comic sans just plain lazy.
