The FN FAL was a great weapon in it’s heyday(I say “was”, as most militaries have moved away to lighter assault rifles). I had the privilege of trying out the Indian military issue SLR(Self Loading Rifle) in the early 90's. The 7.62x51 mm round packed quite a punch. Ah… nostalgia.
