Very well written article. You had mentioned emotions (you call it body sensations) as the cause of more suffering due to aversion or clinging, two of the several qualities mentioned in the 2nd noble truth as causing more suffering. There is also a subtle feedback between the thoughts and emotions. Without emotions, which act as the fuel, thoughts (which are like a roaring fire) die down. Without thoughts, emotions rarely last more than 1.5 minutes (scientifically proven it seems). The trick is to break this vicious positive feedback loop by making the body calmer and subsiding the surging emotions. This is done by concentration practice.
