Modern humans are all control freaks. However, they are too busy to control everything. They need something which can provide all information they need with only one glance. This is the origin of “All in my hand”.

“All in my hand” is an app which can provide an overview of “Weather”, “Tasks”, “Messages”, “Calendar” and whatever you want to control.

It starts from a paper prototype as shown below:

After that, I created some wireframe and made a simple prototype:

The prototype tries to use a consistent widget template to handle different widget content and try providing a consistent experience to users. The way to organize the widgets has a good scalability and allow users to edit the widget by themselves. In each widget, it focus on the most important thing and give users the instruction about what’s the next step they can do.

Regarding the next step of “View More”, there are two possible solutions. First is to redirect a new page to show the details there. Second is to make the section collapsible. I made two prototype and did the A/B testing.

According to the result of the A/B Testing, Version B seems more unexpected to users and user tried to scroll from left to right to check more details. Users tried to click the weather even it has been expanded. Seems to want to check more details. Version A seems more fit user’s expectation and user used less time to finish the task.

I went with Version A and created the final hi-fi prototype based on the wireframe.

You could find the prototype here:

Now, all is in your hand. Please enjoy.
