We all love the opportunity to restart. I guess that’s why we all love the New Year.
Life. Career. Education. Mistakes in life. We all love the opportunity to start all over. I guess that’s why the New Year day is special. We stop running the same way around December 1st week. We wonder what can we do different in the new year. We erase everything about the past.
New year. New beginning. Time to think about the great dialog from Kung Fu Panda “Yesterday was a history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.” Yes, tomorrow becomes a present after today. And we begin to get a sense of the mystery of tomorrow, every day from today.
I love the restart. I love the the opportunity to restart.
We share. We give gifts. We think of the forgotton loved ones. We make phone calls. We send texts. We post on every medium we have. We wish everyone without expecting anything in return.
Life is not going to stop and give us time to do all those important things that we would have forgot while running in pursuit of life. So, we stop deliberately and take a break around this time of the year. We take time to contemplate how to do better. Even if we are doing well. We want to do better in other aspects of life.
We set new resolutions. We set new objectives and goals. Chances are we may not keep up those resolutions. But we give ourselves a chance to try and meet some if not all.
New Year day is same as any other day. it’s the same sunrise, same day and same sunset. Just like any other day. Yet, it feels different. It feels nice. We are excited about the new year.
I stopped running in August for about 5 months this year, well before December started, after running nonstop for 9 years. I am thankful for the Almighty for giving me the opportunity and mindset to take the break, spend time with loved ones, think about things that I had ignored for those 9 years.
Thank you, life, for a beautiful year in 2015. And looking forward to another beautiful year in 2016. I have a new beginning in my life as entrepreneur in 2016, starting today, January 1, 2016. (another blogpost, another time :)
Wish all my family, friends, and all those wonderful human beings who I have never met or spoke to, who share their experience, the results and their perspectives on Medium, Quora, Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and numerous other tools on the Internet, a very happy, healthy and joyful new year. Happy New Year.
