Right. People live in different conditions all over the world and are fine.

Although it’s still relatively mysterious, overheating is associated with SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). Our son also has/had a skin condition that is adversely affected by environment and temperature.

Also, the area the baby would have been sleeping was on the other side of the large apartment (with very poor air circulation) from the single ac window unit, so temperatures were easily in the 100’s there.

This is why I said it was “unsafe” for the baby.
