Hmmm… I once got called out in a local PC white box shop as the guy who employed women (I’d had 2 successive IT people who were women — one’s in China running her own company and the other is now leading our DevOps) so I suspect that the ratios are still off all over.

Regarding idiots who think there are no female devs they have a sad awakening coming. I’ve a female Data Science friend who also spends a lot of her time recruiting depending on how the industry is blowing.

It has to be said that when I was a manager recruiting in Canada the number of DBA/DB programmer/Ops people that were female was always low and that was my biggest challenge, very few female resumes crossed my desk — I would suspect on a pro-rata basis we recruited women more heavily. We’re not lily-white though, senior management is predominantly founders and male.
