I guess? I mean honestly I make a ton of stuff from scratch so I don’t buy a lot of package / brand name food. I make my own bread and salad dressing and having strong feelings about flour and olive oil and which market has the best local berries.
There’s also the knowing how to spot when a private label is the exact thing as a brand name product. Ha, I have a ton of examples but can’t think of any that are ok to bring up. Stupid work rules.
Some products have differences that matter, some don’t. To your point, if off label brands want people to buy them they should do more in store samples. Then you can try the new thing without the threat of wasting money.
