I have two responses to this.
- Totally selfish. This quote;
The Carrier plant in Indianapolis, where Donald Trump made a show of “saving” a few hundred manufacturing jobs from outsourcing, in fact has a workforce that is nearly half women.
Why? Because I’ve mentioned before on here that in my experience in manufacturing, which includes working in a manufacturing plant and consulting for manufacturing businesses, the workforce is not as male dominated as you would believe. Which was met with shitty dismissal and disbelief from some male contributes. So yay, an anecdote that aligns with my experience.
2. Do we even want to save retail jobs? What is a good replacement for them? If the only way to make retail stores profitable is to screw over employees who’s winning here?
