I want to talk about the idea that 17 year olds can’t or shouldn’t make financial decisions about where to go to college or what to major in. Should there be a test for if you’re mature enough to make that call? What would it look like? My parents weren’t wonderful financial resources but I still managed to accept a good financial aid package, understand how much money I was signing up to repay and turn down situations that were super, super tempting to me but bad in the long term.
