How large is the consulting firm you work with?

Oh I’m no kind of supply chain expert. I used to be a manufacturing engineer and then a manufacturing manager. Then I got totally sucked into our company’s ERP implementation and ended up accidentally being the sme for how all the things interacted in the system — which means I’d have the entire accounting department in my office going “Uh, how come this transaction impacted inventory valuation this way and another seemingly similar interaction was stuck in stranded costs” while still being expected to get my normal job done. (Do you want to barf yet? Yes)

Then I was bitching to a gym buddy about being basically pulled away from my real job because everyone was too lazy/dumb to figure out the obvious ways the system was working and she asked for my resume and gave it to her boss. So long story short, we’re first and foremost ERP consulting -which has a huge leaning towards accounting, but since we do implementations the most recent hires (including me) are black belts who have experience in process mapping. So we get hired to do ERP stuff but end up doing a lot of lean/mapping/documenting ect for small to medium business in our region.

The consulting div is really only about 14 people, in a company that’s less than 50. The other branches being CPAs and wealth management.

For me the best thing about consulting is that it’s just less gross. It might have been where I worked but it was a toxic chemical hazard zone. And where I work all day is so clean and quiet and I don’t have to worry about nasty gunk getting on my work clothes.
