Thanks Wolf. It is a bit odd that “delightful” became the adjective of choice in the UX field- you could replace it with another word that is more meaningful or applicable to the product goals.

However I do believe that design has become the differentiator for many products today, and while it’s certainly more important that a solution addresses the problem at hand, that may not be enough in some verticals, especially if there’s stiff competition. A delightful (or insert other adjective) experience might be the difference between two products that solve a problem equally well.
