Potential Practices towards a Deliberately Developmental Organization

Hi Onno, nice share I am an advocate of the DDO approach also, I would however challenge the message around the strengths based approach a little. I took away from the book that the ability to fail and to acknowledge mistakes is a major part of the DDO process i.e. knowing where we are weak, acknowledging that, for example with the ‘baseball card’ idea of “rely ons” and “watch out fors,” is very important. Celebrating and reinforcing strengths is a good thing, BUT, DDOs with their hunt for ‘radical transparency’ do not shy away from their weaknesses. Remember Decurions ‘competency board’ where everyone's development areas are known publicly to all. Good luck spreading the gospel, I will also continue :-) cheers Garry
