The popular media certainly promotes the legitimacy of homosexual perversion. I’m saddened to see a Bethel sponsored publication promote this delusion. As a Bethel alumni and now Bethel parent, I want to affirm Bethel’s Covenant statement. Bethel needs to continue being salt and light to our society. Rejecting God’s design of male and female will not advance the kingdom of God in any way. There is no such thing as a “God honoring homosexual relationship,” unless you’re talking about a different god. Those who act on so called “uncontrollable urges” are not living under the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Acceptance of homosexual activity or “marriage” discards clear Biblical teaching, and 2000 years of Christian doctrine on sexuality. Students who willfully break the Covenant they have signed in order to study at Bethel are dishonest and lack integrity. They should not be celebrated or promoted. Instead, they should be confronted with the truth in love and urged to seek forgiveness and reconciliation.
