Gary Fixter says The return of the BMW 3-Series to the top of our compact saloons rankings, in this its seventh full model generation, has very little, if anything, to do with luck. The 3 Series has brought greater handling dynamism and driver appeal to this segment than any rival over the last four decades. Of late it has added into the mix engines that lead the class for performance and efficiency, making it even harder to overlook.

Gary Fixter classy, spacious and technologically advanced cabin and top-notch mechanical refinement to match its other dynamic qualities, the G20 -generation 3 Series has become a more outstanding class-leading act than you’ll find in many of the other vehicle classes with which we concern ourselves.

Gary Fixter says BMW’s key fleet model, now in its seventh generation, is expected to provide the highest levels of efficiency and driver engagement in its segment.

Priced from £33,610, the new 3 Series is on sale now and features new connected services and technology, such as an NFC smartphone key.

Gary Fixter :- It weighs up to 55Kg less than the outgoing model, making it more economical and better to drive. A longer wheelbase provides greater interior space.

Gary Fixter tells The full engine line up is yet to be confirmed but BMW has published fuel economy data for the 320d, which can achieve up to 67.3mpg.

CO2 emissions start from 110g/km for the diesel, giving the the new 3 series an edge over its rivals. There is also a 330e plug-in hybrid, which emits 39g/km.
