Fixing ageism in Silicon Valley is a joint effort

Ageism in Silicon Valley goes far beyond employment. As one who has been covering technology for some 35 years, the last five of which focused on the 50+ market, I have seen example after example of Silicon Valley companies that routinely dismiss the importance of this demographic. The 50+ generation has a huge amount of disposable income. Contrary to the beliefs of many of those in the Valley this generation is tech savvy (remember Bill Gates and Steve Jobs?). But the twenty to forty somethings who fill most of the jobs are dismissive of both the needs and capabilities of the 50+ generation. They are not interested in creating for them, or selling to them. So why would they be interested in hiring them?
