I can’t imagine what it would be like if the only my family moved to start Bayshore. I hear of so many church planters who get up and move somewhere without anyone joining them. The kind of courage that takes is beyond what I could ever do. I think of the pastor of my sending church, Kevin Sullivan. His family moved from Texas to Seattle and only one other family joined them on the adventure. That is nuts to me!
I feel blessed to live a different story. A story where there are 19 of us starting Bayshore…21 if my 2 kiddos count. I sometimes wonder if I could have made this move if no one else came with us. I just don’t know if I have that kind of courage.
Only being here for 2 weeks has shown me the difference starting a church with friends makes. More momentum. More help. More laughter. More meals together. More stories of starting friendships with neighbors. More camradarie. More support. More learning from each other about how to follow Jesus.
