The Movement Says More about the Watch than the Brand

A lot of people in today’s day and age are very discriminatory against watch brands they do no prefer. The common, though derogatory term used to describe these time piece imperialists is called a “watch snob.” Being a watch snob means you care way too much about the brand of designer watches someone is wearing. Why? Mainly because purist followers of mens designer watches do not like that popular brands are seemingly overpriced while they under deliver on quality time keeping. And while I generally believe that anyone is entitled to spend their money on whichever designer watches tickle their fancy, I do find myself aligning with some of the intristic principles of watch snobbery.

However, I point my snobbery not at those who purchase watches, but rather at the brand themselves. Rather than naming names of brands I would typically put in the category of overpriced, I rather take a moment to direct some much deserved attention to mens designer watches that deserve some credit where credit is due. For me, Breitling watches jump to mind as a fixture in the upper echelon of mens designer watches. Sure, there are more expensive products out there, but the concern here lies solely within the craftsmanship – where Breitling designer watches certainly excel.

Their movement is top notch, and their background is noble – even the most critical of watch snobs wouldn’t snuff at a Breitling. Instead, let’s look at a more controversial brand – Tag Heuer. Tag designer watches are reasonably prices, and come in a variety of movements. It is for this reason that some people who have a passion for watches are either on one side or the other of Tag Products. Tags movement diversity leaves the brand in its entirety up to speculation, but if you ask me, Tag Heuer designer watches deserve praise whether mechanical, quartz, automatic, or anything else you can cram into a watch to make it move. They pay attention to their craftsmanship, they make watches that won’t give out on your, they are reasonably priced, and they are certainly a timepiece you can be proud of.

At the end of the day, it does not matter the name of the watch brand on your wrist. What matters is that you have a designer watch with quality movement, and that you feel comfortable sporting whether you are at a ball or in the woods. Do some homework about what is on the inside of designer watches, and worry a lot less about what is on the outside.
