I think that people are missing the community aspirations that Medium has always had with their recent push to micro-content.

Medium has always wanted to be about collaboration in writing, in editing and review. It hasn’t delivered on that desire so well. It’s work to collaborate.

By introducing smaller, easier to dash off content, you can see the desire to engender community.

Medium should be more ‘Writer’s Room’ and less ‘Publishing Platform’, or at least a better mix of those two.
