And this is why…….

Assessing a man’s character based on his occupation is a problem. Therefore, Eboni K. Williams stating that she would only date a bus driver if he owned the bus is problematic, but I do understand what she is saying beneath all of the attitude and fluff.

While I love Dr. Vanzant’s work and her contributions to healing work, the questioning of whether or not Ms. Williams would date a bus driver is the deeper problem.

And this is why…….

Not many women across the racial color spectrum with two or more college degrees making 6 or 7 figures who have been on television shows and in the public eye would ever date a bus driver.

Besides that, only Black women are ever asked questions like this. Yes, I know and clearly understand the context in which the question was asked because I watched the entire interview with Dr. Iyanla Vanzant. However, only Black women and I would go so far and say only Black American women are ever asked to date men who do not hold the same educational and income attainments as them.
