Design Thinking Exercise

INTRODUCTION
Whole Bank, even though it has a small town beginning it is trying to be at the forefront of innovative options such as virtual currencies. One issue it’s trying to solve is the inconveniences of dealing with the conventional Credit/Debit card for traveling customers. Knowing that most depend on these cards to be able to get money from the ATM machines or to make payments, the intention is to develop a tool within their app to let the bank customers pay without having to use a physical card.
PROBLEMS DURING INTERVIEWS
I then interviewed five persons who identified themselves as being very familiar to traveling. I started them off with letting them express their general outlook of what traveling entails from the saving, planning, packing, documenting and the actual exploration of hitting personally unchartered territories. It was there I steered them into the financial management of dealing with expenses on their voyages and I found that their was a consensus on trying to be financially savvy and safe with their financial expenses in foreign lands. That carrying the least amount of cash necessary was always preferred and that Cards were always convenient but had some drawbacks at times and in different places; security and hidden foreign exchange rates came up when having to use a Debit/Credit card as a form of payment.
MAIN PROBLEM TO SOLVE
So the task at hand is to have an add on to Whole Bank’s application that is secure and internet dependent since we are more than likely in a foreign country in which our service provider may more than likely be a no show while traveling abroad.
PLAN
After brainstorming various ideas I believe the most viable solution is to have your Credit card information stored in your app secured by the best encryption and use near field communication to transfer payment information to compatible payment devices by always asking you a password or your fingerprint to activate. Even tho there are still constraints and requirements for this technology to work, the issue on not having to carry and expose a physical card to theft is taken care of as well as not having internet access available for it to work.
PROTOYPE

The Design thinking exercise made me look at a very broad subject like the one of traveling and Card protection and payments from so many different angles that to make a sound proof ideal solution to all problems and circumstances was hard to get to. It eventually taught me to focus on your defined/primary goals and find solutions to those.
