Wireframing Exercise in Sketch

For this next exercise I was asked to take the following Hi Fedelity screens from a car sharing app and wireframe them in sketch.

Reverse engineering was an interesting and fun task. Sometimes reducing down seems harder than filling in an object with color or inserting a photo. A clear challenge was to decide how simple to make the sketch- Do I write the car descriptions or represent them with lines? Write the logo out or just place hold it with a Text box that says “logo?”

This exercise definetely took more time than expected. Aligning objects or layering multiple rectangles to give the illusion of different boxes definitely takes more time then sketching them on paper with a pencil. Finding some of these icons seemed long and tedious. Unexpectedly towards the last two sketches, common items were created with a simple duplicate from a previous sketch. Having an archive of commonly used items helps out a lot.

Thanks for reading!
