There is an App for That
I finally resisted and bought an iPad. This was right before the quarantine started. In Massachusetts we started on Friday March 13th. Kids and I have been home since that time. Wife is at the front lines of this battle since she is a nurse.
The App Store has tons of amazing apps for the iPad. You really don’t need anything more than an iPad to start homeschooling kids. I will skip the obvious apps that let kids learn school curriculum at home.
Here are some apps we have introduced to our kids:
Flowkey is an app to learn piano.
Steezy is an app to learn dance moves. Want to do that floss move, now you can. I heard about this app on the startup podcast hosted by Jason Calacanis.
I am looking for a good app for Chess for kids.
Here are some apps I wish were on the App Store:
An app to learn mental math. I have couple of books on doing quick math in your head. I wish an app existed for kids.
An app to kids teach personal finance.
Maybe these apps already exist and maybe there are other apps for kids. The joys of learning are never ending.
