India-China border standoff : Nations’ stand so far
It’s been about a month now, that the Chinese and Indian army are facing each other, for the Doklam land dispute, still having no clear indication of where the situation would flow to next.

The standoff aroused with the obstruction, on the Chinese road construction, by the Indian side, in the Doklam region, which is the tri-junction i.e. land shared among China, Bhutan and India. So, clearly stating the obvious, it’s none of the three’s right to have any permanent makings, standings or any accomplishment over the land unless it is approved by the other two.
China’s Stand : China claims the whole Doklam region to be it’s territory and hence it is authorised to have any constructions over there and based on this very statement it is accusing India to have invaded it’s region, Doklam. Through the gradual release of political statements and news articles from the Chinese side, in the past one month, China has still withstood it’s claim, over the Doklam region and has been warning India to remove it’s army from the front, and thus not to hinder their road construction. China has also stated to not to back from any war conditions if created.
India’s Stand : India’s stand so far has been kind of a cool warrior, waiting for the opposition’s take first. This can be said, based on the comparatively lesser number of official statements made over the issue, having a smooth NSA meet (at BRICS summit), despite Chinese negations over it. But this doesn’t imply India’s negligence anywhere. India has stated Chinese constructions in the region, to be a security threat to it’s boundary regions and thus has advocated the withdrawal of military on both sides, sticking to the actual holding of the Doklam region.
Studying both of the above, it is clear that China is dodging the reality, in order to extend it’s land possession, and thus the road construction in the region is completely unethical. Besides this, the Chinese advancements in the region can also be seen as it’s start towards further invasion in it’s neighbouring states. India should especially consider this, considering the CPEC relations between China and Pakistan, China’s expansion in the Indian Ocean and surrounding areas and many more.
Now, despite seeing increasingly tense border situations, and war claims by China, it can be said that a wise decision from either side can never initiate a war at any cost, as both the nations are developing in their own terms and India and China share quite large amount of economic and cultural heritage, so in any case a war is a harm to both, irrespective of how powerful one is. Indeed China can be said to be the most powerful Asian country having the largest standing army in the world, but it should not exploit it’s superiority.
Thus amid all tensions, it is expected from the Chinese side to comply to ethics, while India is apt on obstructing any Chinese advancement over the region and hence keeping in mind the war consequences, any such absurdness must be avoided.
