The Berjaya Affair

If you are travelling or planning to take a vacation to Langkawi Malaysia, then I insist that you choose “The Berjaya Langkawi Resort and Spa” with your eyes closed! One of the hotels at Langkawi, this resort is so huge that you’d require an entire day to explore this lovely resort. The hotel has different types of accommodations , ‘chalets’, to offer :
A) Rainforest chalets: Rustic and modern rooms in the middle of the rainforest which give you a proper feel of living amidst wildlife. These rooms are the best if you want to spot some amazing exotic birds and animals. You never know, the monkeys might pay you a visit.
B) Sea view chalets: These chalets are just like the rainforest chalets, the only difference being that they offer a clear view of the sea. You will definitely set up an early alarm to witness the amazing sunrise.
C) Chalets on water: These chalets are literally built on water, which gives you a clear and obstacle free view of the sea. You will definitely wake up to the sound of waves crashing on the shore.
D) Premier chalets on water: Chalets with much more modern interiors. Yes, these chalets are build on water too!
E) Premier chalets on land: Just like premier chalets on water. The only difference is that they are built on land but not to worry, they offer you an amazing view of the sea.
You can also opt for some high end luxurious rooms such as:
- Premier Suite on water
- Executive Suite on water
- Presidential Suite on water
The Berjaya resort has its own private beach and a lot of things to offer. You can choose to go for some water sports or you can just chill by the pool, sipping at your favorite cocktail. The pool at the Berjaya is huge with a bar which is on the pool itself! They have small stools set on the water where you can sit and enjoy your drink. Every corner of Berjaya offers a breathtaking view. The staff at Berjaya is extremely cooperative and they will always be happy to help you. The reception area at Berjaya has a section where you can opt for different tours such as island hopping, mangrove tours, city tours etc. The Berjaya also offers a free “Nature Walk by Dev” to its room guests every day. As I have mentioned before, the resort is huge and the chalets are quite far from the main reception, but the resort offers free shuttle service within its boundaries. You just need to call the reception and in 5 minutes a shuttle will be waiting outside your chalet!
Do you know what the biggest concern is that we all have while choosing the hotel or resorts? Yes, you are right, FOOD! And I add here that the food at Berjaya is not a problem at all. Berjaya offers wide range of cuisines from all over the world and yes, they do have some Indian options at “The Beach Restaurant” as well ☺
The Berjaya has 5 proper dining restaurants and 4 lounges to chill and unwind yourself ☺
Pahn-Thai Restaurant- Uniquely built on stilts in the middle of the clear ocean waters with the vast ocean and mountains as a beautiful backdrop, this restaurant serves an innovative Thai cuisine with an extensive wine list. And trust me eating here is not going to dig a BIG hole in your wallet as compared to other five stars in the world. The main reason of food and beverage being less expensive here is that the island is completely tax free! :D :D Don’t forget to book your table in advance :D
Dayang Cafe- Serves a variety of Malaysian and International cuisines with themed evening buffets. If you are cool with experimenting then this restaurant is perfect for you :D They serve food according to their theme nights. Every day they have different theme to offer to their guests. They have ala-carte menu as well.
Beach Restaurant- Located right on the private beach front with waves lapping onto the shore, the Beach Restaurant offers an extensive menu of Western, and Indian cuisines. The best part of dining at this restaurant is its location and set up. My personal favourite on the menu is the Canju Salmon.
Mizumi Japanese Restaurant- Located on the lake at the Oriental Village, this restaurant serves the freshest and most distinctively flavoured traditional Japanese cuisine. Though I haven’t been there but have heard a lot about this restaurant. And who doesn’t like sushi? :D
Oriental Pearl- This restaurant serves authentic Cantonese and Szechuan cuisines. The ambiance and the setup are very oriental and serene. Peking duck is a must try here.
Lobby Lounge- Serves delicious snacks and beverages with live entertainment, an ideal spot to relax and catch up with family and friends. I personally loved spending my evening here listening to some amazing music and a band performance.
Rimba Spots Bar- An entertainment hot spot complete with an extensive bar, music, live sports channels, fun games, cyber cafe, mini library and jukebox. Operates daily from 11.00am untill late.
Boat House Bar- Serves snacks and beverages at the beachfront, the perfect
spot to fuel up for more fun beach activities and water sports.
Sunken Pool Bar- Serves delightful snacks and beverages by the poolside. I have spent some amazing afternoons here ☺
Berjaya is located 5 min away from the oriental village, which is located at the foothills of Mt. Machincang, A collection of more than 50 activity and adventure providers, F&B outlets, souvenir & retail stores, galleries and spas, the Oriental Village offers a quality day-out of fun, adventure, shopping and gastronomic delights at one location!
Anchored by Langkawi Cable Car–arguably the best tourist attraction in the country–it is also the only premier must-visit hotspot on the island. You should not give it a miss ☺
So pack your bags, gather your friends and family and head off to this island of hedonism to spoil your senses!
