BOOM! Liverpool makes it through to the Champions League
Liverpool 4–2 Hoffenheim
To be honest I was surprised by the scoreline. In the sense I felt it could have been more goals from both sides. That talks about the defense too.
It's the kind of night that shows you why Anfield deserves the Champions League. The atmosphere was electric. There’s something about the rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone on an European that makes it magical. With a favourable draw, Liverpool should make it through from the group stages. And some big names are going to come to Anfield. And mark my words, none of them would find it easy.
Liverpool’s front three are going to make life difficult for many defenders. Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah already have a chemistry going on. It would only get better. If Coutinho stays, they are going to create more chances. If Liverpool can improve on their finishing, they will be ridiculously good. Sane and Firmino are probably two of the most important players in the team. And they showed why on a very important night for Liverpool. For me, the Brazilian was the MOM

Give Emre Can the contract he wants. It's just not because of the two goals he scored, Can is a force in midfield. Since the turn of the year, he’s been at the center of everything good at Liverpool. Except for that contract. Just 23, he will go on to be one of the best midfielders for years to come. Its performances likes these that make me believe that he might be a vital cog for Germany at 2018 WC. Can is probably the heir in waiting to Sami Khedira. Liverpool would do well to extend his stay. A real force, the German is.
I thought Alberto Moreno was fantastic. He was flying in the first half and looked an integral part of all of Liverpool’s attacking play.
Lovren had a rather Lovren game. He’s good on his days. But that’s just not good enough for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool. Period. He just doesn’t give that stability.
I really like the idea of seeing James Milner come in as a sub. Spending the last season at left back has added an extra dimension to his game. He knows what to do. He knows when to give cover for the center-backs. Milner is going to be invaluable to Klopp.
Hoffenheim had their chances. Some gifted by Liverpool. If they had capitalized, it would have been a very nervy night for the Kop. A lot of their play indicated they targeted young Alexander-Arnold. I really liked the look of Serge Gnabry. He was a threat all night and looked the most dangerous for the away team.
Its great that Liverpool made it through to the group stages of the Champions League. I’m really excited for European football. This is the stage that Liverpool must consistently shows their skills on.
