Why Manchester City Will Win The EPL

Finally the transfer window is shut. Records were broken. Over £ 1 Billion was splashed. That’s Entertainment and Vanity. Now we know the final composition of teams for the roller coaster ride ahead. So I’m going to make my prediction for the top 4. I will analyze each team and where they will finish.

I’m going to start with Manchester City.

Ever since Sheikh Mansour took over the reins at the Etihad, City have gone on to establish themselves among the top football clubs in the world. In the span of a few years, millions have been splashed on transfers, world class players have come through the door at the Etihad. Fan following has increased. Multiple titles have filled the trophy cabinet. Money certainly speaks! That’s what the Sheikh did to Manchester City. If there is one thing they lack, it’s royalty. To reach that elite level, they need to taste continental glory. Haven’t you heard, there’s nothing money can’t buy. Out comes the cheque book and in comes Pep Guardiola. The Spaniard is the most glorified manager in modern football. He has created his own brand of football. Guardiola made Barcelona the untouchables, winning every title possible. The trail of trophies followed him to Bavaria. So it is no surprise that he has been bought to City. Pep will have full control over all proceedings. Any player he wants will be his. And City have one of the most talented teams in England. I see instant success.

Quality Everywhere

The summer has been about Joe Hart. The shot stopper was one of the first names in the City team for years. Hart has been banished. Guardiola prefers a quick, ball playing keeper. The fact that Willy Caballero was selected ahead of Hart in the league matches tells the story. Pep had his say and in came Claudio Bravo from Barcelona. This clearly shows the kind of City teams that will turn out.

Yaya Toure had been the cog in the engine since he was bought in 2010. Again, Guardiola had other plans. İlkay Gündoğan has been bought in for that. Its one of the best transfers of the summer. While the German is yet to play for the Spaniard, much hopes are pinned on the youngster. Before the injuries, Gündoğan had been a revelation with Borussia Dortmund. Now Gündoğan has a chance to redeem himself. His energetic and quick style is tailor made for the pace of the English Premier League.

Gündoğan has signed a four-year deal for a fee understood to be £21m

City also snapped up Leroy Sane. The young German has been one of the hottest talents in Europe. Sane was scouted by many suitors. Anyone who has watched Schlake play will vouch for this. Pacey and direct. He is is fluidic. Sane and Sterling on the wings will give much trouble to teams. Whether he will be a natural selection this season remains to be seen. But the former Schalke man is one for the future

Raheem Sterling, the much criticized England man has a point to prove. His pace will find the right direction under Pep. His game will meet perfection under the Spaniard. Expect him to be deployed as a striker. I, for one have never felt City over paid for the former Liverpool man. True, he didn’t set the world alight last season. But don’t judge him on the back of one season. He was one of the genuine talents in the Liverpool team. Sterling might use all the heat he faced in the last season to motivate himself and shut down all critiques. Watch out for Raheem!

Sergio Aguero remains the finest marksman in football when fit. The Argentine is pure class. He has already hit top gear this season. If Guardiola can keep him fit and firing, City will not only challenge for league title, they will be threat in Europe. He will be missed in the Manchester Derby. Kun Aguero is vital to Pep’s title challenge.

When City payed £ 55 Million for the services of Kevin De Bruyne, I was skeptical as to how much he can improve an already talented team like City. How wrong I was. De Bruyne has been sensational. Goals and assists have been plenty. His game reeks quality. Many of you will have the Belgian in their Fantasy teams. If he can keep himself fit, De Bruyne can be one of the contenders for the PFA Player of the Year.

Kevin De Bruyne was City’s best player by a mile in his debut season

City paid big bucks for John Stones. The England international is one for the future. He started last season in much demand and then vanished to oblivion only for Roy Hodgson to pick him for the Euros. Under the mentor-ship of Vincent Kompany and tutelage of Guardiola, Stones can level up. Jon Stones can go on to be the rock at the back of the team.

City have never been this prepared for a season ahead. First they roped in Guardiola and promised him the transfers. And they have delivered just that. Stones, Gündoğan, Sane, Nolito and Bravo are proof of that. Pep has won all the matches so far and his team looks like the real deal. Mind you, he did this with the team he inherited. With their quality and management of Pep, they are contenders. City are out right one of the heavy favorites for the trophy.

And this is why, at the end of the season, the Premier League trophy will be paraded in Manchester. The Blue half of Manchester.

Final League Position : 1st
