Everyone Respects it, But So Few Have it.
Whether it’s Rocky 1, Rocky 2 or Rocky 5000. We all love a good loss and redemption story.
They captivate us, they suck us in and bring out our inner drive. We live vicariously through the characters journey. We can’t resist it.
The characters comes from nothing, beat the odds and become successful, lose it all and redeem themselves.
The best selling books and movies of all time are stories of loss and redemption. And there’s one characteristic that we admire most.
What is it you ask?
There’s a universal appeal to the ultra human trait of…
Relentlessness!
We admire it, we envy it, and when we ourselves apply it to our own lives see results beyond our wildest dreams.
One of my favourite shows is Shark Tank.
I never truly understood why I loved it so much until I watched a Kevin O’Leary’s speech.
Where he said..
The reason why millions of people tune into to watch the show and why entrepreneurship is exploding around the world is…
People are watching the pursuit of freedom. (Which is what we all want deep down inside.)
The “American Dream” is alive and thriving right now. It’s there for the taking.
But ONLY for those who are willing to take on the challenge.
It’s scary.
It’s risky.
It’s hard.
But like Tom Hanks said “you want life to be hard, because the hard is what makes it great”
It’s a rare trait these days, people are soft.
Most quit.
Most give up.
Most don’t even try.
But the ones that do, the ones that are willing to do what it takes.
They not only experience freedom, but we celebrate them as well!
They go down in history and we remember them forever.
So what ever your dream is…
Never give up.
Never surrender.
Relentlessly Pursue Your Freedom, Always.
William Wallace understood this. He fought for one thing and one thing only.
FREEEEEEDOM!
This scene makes me cry every time…
