Jamie Burke: I like the technical properties of IOTA. But it seems to me that because of these exact properties, the technology can be adopted without the token increasing in value. Companies can use the tech without any underlying need to expose themselves to the token—just by sending data. This implies that increases in network usage and increases in token price can be completely decoupled.
Is the (overly simplified) idea that the convenience of using the token native to the network will be what gives it value?
This is not a knock, just a question. I’d sincerely welcome your thoughts on this; I’m looking to understand where I’m wrong in this viewpoint.
