Okay, so let’s suppose she continuously makes poor financial decisions. Does this mean minimum wage is in fact a livable salary? No, of course not. So, it doesn’t really matter if she’s making bad financial decisions — that doesn’t get to the overall issue: Is it okay for a company to pay minimum wage in SF?

You bring up valid points about providing jobs here rather than outsourcing them. By all means, have THAT discussion. You don’t need to pick apart a specific person’s life to do that.
