Book Review: Mission Overseas-Daring Operations by the Indian Military

Someone needs to write a book about the 62 china war and set the record straight on the ‘embarrassment’. Indian soldiers were outnumbered at least 8:1 and china had not only enormous high ground advantage but also much easier access to the theater. The chinese could literally walk to the theater while indian forces had to make their way through hazardous passes. The embarrassment was largely political, not military. Not trying to be a jingoist or something, but america’s withdrawal from vietnam is truly an embarrassment, not indian withdrawal from aksai chin, which, let’s be honest, was never indian territory. Nehru was trying to make up for the loss of tibet, which was much more in the Indian orbit than the lifeless desert of aksai chin.
