Thank you Leslie Forman. I like the phrase you use “contested landscapes.” I hope one day women’s bodies can be uncontested spaces. Our bodies hold so much. I used to think of my relationship with my body as something I figure out as a teen or young adult and then it is static. Instead the ebb and flow of my feelings and relationship to self is ever present. And my right to my experience of it (or women’s rights to their own experiences of their bodies) — all of it — seems to be called into question so easily by others. It does feel urgent doesn’t it?
