The anger voiced toward Bush, Rubio…et al was testament that there was little they respected about traditional “conservatives” as well. What I find particularly interesting is the emergence, in one election cycle, of Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. While they represent, for the most part, very different constituencies with very different complaints and solutions, they do have commonalities in demanding radical change. One approach, I would argue, is little more than anarchism by another name; and the other populism that demands more from those who extract the vast majority of wealth from society.
