Announcing Crust Network’s Integration with Gear, a Substrate-based Wasm Smart Contract Platform
October 12, 2022 — We are pleased to announce the integration of Crust Network with Gear Protocol!
Crust provides a decentralized storage network for the Web3 ecosystem. It supports multiple storage layer protocols such as IPFS, and exposes storage interfaces to application layers. Crust’s technical stack is also capable of supporting a decentralized computing layer. It is designed to build a decentralized cloud ecosystem that values data privacy and ownership.
Crust is currently enabled to support the Gear Protocol TestNet, allowing developers to access IPFS services with a simple HTTP call (IPFS W3Auth Gateway) and interact with Crust chain via native Gear accounts (IPFS W3Auth PinningService). Furthermore, Crust will continue to add support for any networks launched on Gear Protocol in the future. Once Gear Protocol Mainnet is live, users will be able to use Crust Files as a decentralized storage solution for smart contracts and DApp data. This integration will provide developers in the Gear ecosystem with a decentralized storage protocol for their own particular use case.
