I’d blame the restaurants for installing the devices rather than the marketers whose products are promoted on them. Not a particularly scalable advertising opportunity so seems more like a misguided attempt by the proprietor to offer a service. Does it not have a stand by button? Feedback with your mouth and vote with your feet / wallet!
