Flipkart Games ? Google Pay Promos!
Just two weeks ago the Diwali promotion ran by google pay has taken the nation by storm. Bringing the dormant google pay users back to using the digital wallet.

Google Pay has also extended the promotion till 11th November despite the cost, which causes me to think this was quite successful.
In case you have missed this, there is a dedicated button in the Flipkart app for Flipkart games.

Amazon also has started venturing into the gaming arena with quizzes. Let’s talk about Flipkart Games and Guess what in particular as I am quite hooked to it. Around 249,000 people have played this today. Often brands tie up with Flipkart to advertise their products here.
The engagement is higher as compared to any other form of ad on Flipkart. For users it is a way to get respite from their boring schedules, for companies it has become a way to reach many eye balls and for Flipkart it has become a prime advertisement space.
The important question to ask is why is an e commerce site focusing on online games ?
The answer my friends is customer engagement, the more time your users spend with your site the more money companies pay you for advertisements. Moreover the users are likely to shop from your site more than any other website.
The biggest challenge any new entrant in the app ecosystem is customer acquisition. Tonnes of money is burnt in getting the users to download their app. Flipkart already has a great user base and it makes sense to keep the user base engaged so that stickiness for the app is developed.
I will not be surprised if in the world of ice bucket challenges, kiki challenges and what not brands come up with more activities that engage customers.
