Comings and Goings

The shadow of the handle at the bottom of the frame says it all, in that it asks all the right questions. Sure looks like a suitcase handle.
This image came not long after unpacking my own suitcase in this room, with the idea I would not be packing it any time soon. Little did I know, that life would have other plans for me . . . much sooner than ever expected.
Ultimately this image came to represent not only the coming, but the going as well.
The golden glow in the top half of the frame tells me there is light ahead. And that it is balanced by the shadow work neccessary to get to the light. In the weeks following this image, I was shown much as to the nature of this new fork, appearing down the road ahead. All inspired by the heartbreak that was conspiring to set me free.
Life is so often other than it appears. And is that not the reason we get up every morning? In the end, this image illustrates for me, the essence of the yin and the yang of living in this world. We sure love the contrasts.
