For those that may not know, I’m big into music with Hip Hop being my first love. Hip Hop found it’s way into my orbit when I was a young girl by listening to Kool Moe Dee’s How Ya Like Me Now from my cousin’s tape collection that I listened to religiously.
But the rest of the time I was in front of my family’s giant Magnavox TV where I’d watch nothing but music videos. And that’s where I later got familiar with Tupac; Salt N’ Peppa/Spinderella; Jay Z and Nas just to name a few.
I will say that since I grew up I had to refine my taste in music, as it was going in a direction that I no longer understood nor respected especially since Hip Hop just wasn’t doing it for me like it use to. And some of that was partly due to the tragic deaths of Tupac in the mid to late 90s, Aaliyah and Lisa Left Eye Lopes in the early 2000’s who at the time revolutionized the way I saw and listened to music and call me “old school” but I much prefer my music…
