I thought it would be great to interview some Physiotherapists about their careers to date and how they got to where they are now.

This blog features Physiotherapists who have shared their career journeys with me. These are real life examples of how it’s possible choose any path you wish, to secure the role you want.

Megan Riley

1. How long have you been a physiotherapist and what is your current role?

I graduated in 2014 from Kings college London with a BSc in Physiotherapy. I currently work in the NHS as a Band 7 clinical specialist in MSK and recently accepted a secondment as a B8a People Promise Manager.

2. Did you do rotations? If not do you regret it?

I chose against rotations in order to pursue my preferred specialty: MSK. I started in private healthcare for the first year, and then secured a static Band 5 MSK position in the NHS, before progressing to a Band 6 position after 1 year. 3 years later, I accepted a Band 7 role. Initially, I was concerned I may regret not doing rotations because so many people had told me that it would benefit me in the long run.
