Day 84 Halloween

People in the US really celebrate Halloween. People decorate their houses with pumpkins, spiders, skeletons. My host, Poly, is also no exception to this. And in the evening, someone did come to trick-or-treat!

The atmosphere of Halloween was not limited to the neighborhoods. It also surrounded the campus! I sometimes came across students wearing costumes on the street. Classes were celebrating the holiday, too. This morning during the Principle of Conservation Biology class, Prof. Steve wore a bird costume on his head while lecturing. He also gave away candies to us if we answered or asked questions. Interestingly, one of my classmates dressed up in a formal suit. I asked him if this would be inconvenient, and he said he didn’t really think so. Later in the afternoon during the Ecology class, both GSIs Andre and Nina wore costumes to the class. And guess what kind of costumes they were wearing? You’re right, insects!

Happy Halloween!
