This article seems way off base to me. I have an interest in the individuals who provide me with service so I often ask them questions about their life, dreams and aspirations. That is just simply a human being connecting with another human being. I almost always tip 20%. The service has to be particularly bad for me to tip less. Even then I do leave a tip. I can’t fathom where you get the gall to say that a 30 -35% tip should be the norm. I also see that you don’t allow for those situations where restaurants are now paying servers $15 per hour. In those cases do you think that a 30–35% tip is appropriate?
