DublinBeta 17 — meet the teams

DublinBeta is a quarterly tech meetup for early stage startups to showcase what they’ve been hacking together. It’s scrappy, it’s fun and most of all it’s a great way to get lots of feedback to help companies demoing on the night to see if they are on or off course with their idea.

DublinBeta started 5 years ago this October with John O’Rourke and Russell Banks steering the event from Silicon Valley Shores straight in to the harbor that is Silicon Docks (I promise, that is the last of my sailing analogies for this post).

About 2 years ago I got to join DublinBeta which is an event that I really love working on for so many reasons. Over those 5 years we’ve had every type of startup person you can think of from companies that have since been acquired like SoundWave by Spotify to heavy hitting Irish tech story’s like Currency Fair.

Our attendee’s are from every area including 3rd level, VC firms, dev, marketing and any other space in the startup continuum you can imagine! On the evening once our startups have setup their demo stands then our attendees are given 3 voting chips and told to only vote on the startups that make the biggest impact on them! It’s fun, it’s fast paced and it’s an event where teams get real feedback from our 150–200 attendee’s on the night.

Our latest event takes place on the 22nd March, the first one for 2016 and our 17th DublinBeta showcase to date! On the night expect 16 great teams to be on hand to pitch their startup and hustle our attendee’s 3 voting chips with great vigor. Also we’ve something pretty big to announce (don’t worry I haven’t saved any boating analogies for this particular news either) which we hope people are going to find pretty special and something I personally feel is going to be unique for Dublin this year. If you haven’t got your tickets yet then please click here to reserve your space to attend DubinBeta 17 here
