Pitch by pitch @SWLondonfoodie LIVE!

So you all know I’ve a soft spot for the Global event series for Startup Weekend! Over 54 hours attendees get to pitch an idea, build a team and get mentored ahead of the big pitch night on Sunday evening.

This weekend I found my self avoiding storm #Desmond with the flight I took to London for TechCrunch Disrupt and popped into the gang at Startup Weekend Foodie taking place at the lovely WeWork Space in London!

After getting to say hello to this events organisers and long time go to mentor for Startup Weekends in Europe Maria, I settled in to my seat to check out these great startups.

Over the weekend 7 great teams made it through to the Sunday night pitches and here they are!

Keep reading as I’ll be updating this blog throughout the pitch night! BEST OF LUCK EVERYONE!

Love restaurants and want a unique dining experience then you’ve got to check out Shift.

Making dining easier for people with food allergies is FREET.

Now it’s Relevant Recipes pitching their app that helps you choose the best ingredients when you’re in store to make tasty meals based on your preferences!

Next up is team enLabel built a food labelling system for street vendors and small restaurants that

FeedMe is next up which is an app the helps you choose the food for your mood! (Curently my mood has become ‘hunger’ so in this case I’ll eat ALL their options please…)

FoodWizard makes your fridge smart to help you know what’s in there and what delicious meals to make!

Last up pitching their snack food aimed at promoting mental agility is BrainBar!

So that’s it for the pitches…it’s over to our band of (hopefully) delightful judges to make the tough call on the #Startups that’ve just pitched this evening at Startup Weekend Londom Foodie! Best of luck everyone!!!

The foodies have been fed, the judges have judged and out facilitator Maria from Startup Weekend / Techstars Europe has gathered the teams together to announce the winners!

In 3rd place was #FeedMe which helps users find the food for their mood! In 2nd it was RelevantRecipe helping you get the right ingredients for the meals you’ll love and 1st place has gone to enLabeler the app to help street vendors and small restaurants label food correctly!

So after a hectic 54 hours of food, business and fun the people left to thank were the excellent organising team!

So that’s it for another year at Startup Weekend London Foodie and if you’ve had your entrepreneurial interest leaked from the above set of updates (or if you’re more confused now then when you started due to shoddy writing on my part) then use the links in that picture above and get involved in Startup Weekend!
