Without proper ventilation, Indoor Air can be far more harmful than Outside Air.

As we spend most of our time indoors during this pandemic, the importance of Indoor Air Quality has been a great concern not only in hospitals, but also in establishments, offices, and other indoor spaces where we spend 90% of our time.

Indoor air contains pollutants that can remarkably affect our health. Some of these pollutants come from the outdoors as we bring them along with us, and others can come from indoor sources, such as cooking, secondhand smoke, cleaning, building materials, and other consumer products.

Indoor Air pollutants can be Particles or particulate matter (including PM2.5 [fine] and PM10 [coarse]) such as fine dust, Gaseous Pollutants such as carbon monoxide, and Volatile Organic Compounds or VOCs.

Indoor Air quality will vary from place to place and over the course of a day within an establishment. The more contaminants found indoors, the more it poses as a threat to our health.

As research shows, the most effective way to improve indoor air quality is through air filtration. Using a proper air purifier or upgrading the air filter in our central heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) system can help to improve indoor air quality.

COVID-19 and Air Filtration through Air Purifiers

The COVID-19 virus has been declared airborne by the World Health Organization (WHO) in which the virus will simply piggyback on aerosols that we don’t see lurking in the air, making the public much more vulnerable to infection within an enclosed environment. In this case, indoor space is recommended to have Air Purifiers, designed specifically designed to filter our air pollutants or contaminants out of the air that passes through them.

Air Filtration through Air Purifiers and HVAC Filters can help reduce airborne contaminants, including viruses inside a building or indoor spaces. When used along with health and safety protocols recommended by the Department of Health (DOH) of the Philippines and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), including social distancing and mask-wearing, air filtration can be part of a plan to reduce the potential for airborne transmission of COVID-19 indoors.

This may be particularly useful when the indoor space needs additional ventilation without having to compromise more air pollutants coming in with outdoor air (opening windows) and without compromising indoor comfort (temperature, humidity).

As part of our campaign to provide Quality Air for Everyone, especially in these trying times of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are offering products that can help us have safer Indoor Air.

Our FILTRO PURE Medical and Industrial Grade Air Purifieris designed to capture 99.97% of airborne pollutants with its TRUE HEPA Filter, and high-quality centrifugal fan that is able to circulate a high volume of air in an enclosed space of 30–60 square meters in size with 12 Air Changes per hour. It possesses the ability to kill bacteria, fungus, viruses, and other microorganisms and has been used by various industries to adhere to the CDC and DOH’s Standard to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 Virus. It has a maximum Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 765m³/h equivalent to 2.42 times the maximum power of our leading competitor.
