I call bullshit. History can’t tell us what’s gonna happen next, but it can indicate what COULD happen next if people don’t pay attention and let things get out of hand. It’s the reason we have the stock market and banks; because of history. It’s the reason the president has the power to close the stock market, because of history. It’s the reason the Fed (rather stupidly) is choosing not to raise rates…because of a lack of understanding of history. Understanding history is key to making choices in the future. It’s the whole purpose of being a human being; to be better tomorrow than I am today.
