Well, Genopets takes that a step further by inspiring you to stay active while you take care of your digital spirit animal and convert your real-life movement into XP to progress in-game.
We started with the concept of “Move-to-Play,” (which replaces traditional sedentary grinding with physical activity) and combined it with the ability to acquire NFTs that unlock ways to earn and burn GENE Token. Thus, as early as Q1 last year we coined the term “Move-to-Earn.”

As the Genoverse begins to unveil itself, we are officially starting Phase 1A of the Genopets Private Beta on January 22nd, 2022. Genesis Genopet holders, Discord DNA Members, GENE Token Stakers, and Guild Partner Scholars will be among the first players invited to the game.
We’d like to thank all of our active loyal Discord members, and the powerful community that has been forming over the last few months, who have stood by us through our ambitious endeavor to create this game. What to Expect From Private Beta
The Genopets Private Beta is invite-only. Players who sign up to test the Beta will be invited on a perpetual rolling basis starting January 22nd. You will need to register and create a Genopets game account in order to be eligible. **Link coming soon.**
The Genopets Private Beta is a chance to test the latest version of the game to provide feedback and suggestions to ensure a streamlined and invigorating experience for all future Genovians to come.
We can’t begin to express how excited we are for each and every one of you to join us in playing Genopets before it’s released to the public. However, what’s more important than the quantity is the quality. Having a second (or thousandth) set of eyes gives us much better insight into how we can improve every aspect of your overall gameplay experience.
The reason we’re promoting Beta-testing to the community is to provide all of you with a unique opportunity to work on a more personal level with the team and provide high-quality feedback that you get to see come to life. We see and interact with you every day in our Discord, it’s you we’re making this game for; so, we want you to have a voice in bringing the vision Move-to-Earn to life.
As we’ve said time and time again, our goal is to create a game that encourages players around the world to be more proactive in choosing to live a more active lifestyle. And we hope that you’ll find that to be apparent the second you start playing. If you care about the long-term success and quality of the game, you already play a vital role in Genopets.

And What About Earning?
Private Beta will be focused on testing game mechanics before we get into economics. Moreover, this is by design because if we can design a fun game you love to play that inspires you to stay a little bit more active, the earning will become icing on the cake. We did say Private Beta would be rewarding, and we didn’t just mean being one of the first people to play Genopets. GENE Token rewards will be given out periodically during this first phase of Private Beta, but not directly in correlation to your steps or progress in-game. Instead, you will be rewarded GENE Token for being an active Beta participant and providing great feedback. Think of GENE Token rewards as a tip for being a great beta tester.
