TL;DR
- Private Beta Phase 1A started on January 22nd, 2022. Genesis Genopet holders, Discord DNA members, GENE Token stakers, and select guild partner scholars will be among the first to play.
- To verify eligibility and create your game account go to https://genopets.me/beta. Anyone can sign up and secure their spot on the waitlist even if you aren’t in the groups mentioned above.
- If you own a Genesis Genopet and it’s listed on a marketplace, it must be in your wallet to be eligible. Genesis Genopet owners will have first access.
- If you do not own a Genesis Genopet and want to join the private beta, you can purchase one from one of our partner marketplaces Fractal, Magic Eden, FTX.us, or Solanart.
- If you don’t have a Genesis Genopet, you will still be able to hatch a baby Genopet for free during the Private Beta.
- If you previously gave us your email on the website, you still need to verify. The sooner you complete the verification process, the sooner you’ll have access to the game.
- To participate in the treasure hunt for Genesis Habitats, you will need to complete Private Beta verification.

It’s been such an equally arduous and exciting journey up to this point and it is because of you that we have gotten this far (as we have said many times and will continue to tell you). Your feedback is pivotal in helping us deliver a fun, satisfying, memorable experience so we want to extend the opportunity to hear from you.
We know that our Private Beta has been a really hot topic of conversation and everyone’s been trying to figure out how to join. So, here you go!
We’re looking for dedicated community members to test Genopets before it goes public; that means working closely with the team to give us critical feedback regarding aspects and mechanics of the game that you love and areas that could use improvement to help us end up at the best version possible. Anyone who creates and verifies their Genopets account at https://genopets.me/beta will be added to the “Private Beta Eligible” list to be granted access to the game on a rolling basis over the coming months. We will send you an email with instructions to join when it’s your turn.
Phase 1 of our Private Beta currently consists of 4 stages (1A-1D) and we will be releasing iterations. Genesis Genopet holders will be among the first players in Private Beta Phase 1A of the game. However, if you do not own a Genesis Genopet, you can still sign up to test the Private Beta as we roll out invites. You will still be able to hatch a baby Genopet in the game for free.
Warning: If you have a Genesis Genopet in your wallet at the time that you are granted access to participate in Private Beta Phase 1A, and you decide to remove it from your wallet for any reason, you will lose access to Private Beta. SO, if you have a Genesis Genopet listed on the market and you want to participate in Private Beta, you must remove it and place it back in your wallet before January 22nd.
To purchase a Genesis Genopet, head over to Fractal, Magic Eden, FTX.us, or Solanart, before January 22nd to be first in the game. Otherwise, you can still sign up to claim your spot to join the Private Beta later by verifying.
Private Beta Phase 1A — What to Expect
It’s really important that everyone who decides to participate in the beta is fully aware that this is not the complete game. One purpose of Private Beta Phase 1A is to set up and test basic infrastructure and the foundation that we want to lay. We’re currently inviting players to test how Genopets will be passively tracking steps and allowing you to record your progress without even having to think about it. Thus, we want to encourage your initiative in wanting to be more proactive and consciously choosing to live a more fulfilling lifestyle by letting you track your progression in a way that can be both satisfying and exciting. And that’s why we’re incorporating a “Bank Button.” The Bank Button is what you press at the end of a long day to turn your steps into in-game actions and is a core mechanic that you will utilize throughout your entire Genopets gameplay experience.
Private Beta will be focused on testing game mechanics before we get into economics. Moreover, this is by design because if we can design a fun game you love to play that inspires you to stay a little bit more active, the earning will become icing on the cake. We did say Private Beta would be rewarding, and we didn’t just mean being one of the first people to play Genopets. GENE Token rewards will be given out periodically during this first phase of Private Beta, but not directly in correlation to your steps or progress in-game. Instead, you will be rewarded GENE Token for being an active Beta participant and providing great feedback. Think of GENE Token rewards as a tip for being a great beta tester.
The most important purpose of opening up the Beta to prospective players is to get high-quality feedback. We wish you could all join the game on day one and experience everything we’ve been building, but that’s just not realistic. Product development is an iterative process and we want you to all be a part of it. We will be granting beta testing access on a rolling basis starting January 22nd to cohorts of players, gathering the best feedback from the community as we build. If you want to join the Private Beta, start by going to https://genopets.me/beta and complete the steps below to fill out a game account profile and verify yourself. If you previously gave us your email on the website, you still need to verify. The sooner you complete the verification process, the sooner you’ll have access to the game.

Create the account you will use to play Genopets.
- Verify Discord
Link your Discord account so we can verify your role in the community.
- Verify Wallet
Link your wallet address to verify that you own a Genesis Genopet or any other Genopets NFTs. You will need at least .0001 SOL in your wallet to complete verification.
- Take a Quick Survey
Answer qualifying questions to gauge whether or not playing the Genopets Private Beta is right for you.
If you aren’t able to (or don’t want to) verify your Discord you can skip it. Just remember that the more information you fill out, the quicker you’ll be verified, and the sooner you’ll get to participate in the Private Beta. Even if you don’t own a Genesis Genopet and want to help us improve the quality of the game experience for future players, you can still sign up to participate in subsequent Private Beta testing. It’s important that those that are truly dedicated to providing insight into their Genopets gaming experience have the earliest access. And there you have it!
REMINDER: If you have a Genesis Genopet in your wallet at the time that you are granted access to participate in Private Beta Phase 1A and you decide to remove it from your wallet for any reason, you will lose access to Private Beta. SO, if you have a Genesis Genopet listed on the market and you want to participate in Private Beta, you must remove it and place it back in your wallet before January 22nd.

Since announcing the journey of acquiring Genesis Habitats in the Town Hall meeting, our ears have been burning with talk in our Discord channel about the Treasure Hunt. What we will say is that in order to participate in this event, you will need to create and verify your Genopets game account. So, by completing the Private Beta account setup and verification process will bring you one step closer to a Genesis Habitat. Stay tuned for more updates.
