Valorant is a game that is coming into a genre with a lot of history and many players coming in from CSGO. Meaning that as a new player of Valorant and this genre you are going to be hearing many of these terms over and over again. This is a list of terms that veterans of the genre you are entering will be using.

CSGO TERMS FOR NEW PLAYERS

HALF BUY/ECO ROUND — You and your team spend enough to be able to full buy the next round.

FULL BUY You and your team buy full armor and weapons (usually rifles and operators) as well as utilities (abilities)

ANTI ECO — Round where you know the enemy team is on a save or ECO round.

FULL SAVE — Don’t buy anything, the team is very poor and is looking to be able to buy full.

FORCE BUY — When there is not enough money for a full buy but you still spend all money on gear. (Forcing to buy the best you can afford)

STACK — Putting more than the normal amount of players on one bombsite. Risky play that is commonly seen on save rounds, in an attempt to gain the upper hand through surprise.

ROTATE —Leaving the area you are in to move to another area of the map, that is usually called out.

CT SPAWN/T SPAWN — CT = Defender, T = Attacker.

BAITING — Not pushing with a teammate and wait for them to reveal enemy positions usually to kill after they are killed.

TRADE/RE-FRAG — Immediately trading a kill for a kill.
Example: If a teammate is beside you and is fighting/dies you should kill the player that killed them to ensure a 4v4 instead of a 5v4. (Sometimes you may need to fall back instead due to a large number of enemy players)

DOUBLE PEEK— Two teammates peaking an angle at the same time aiming to trade a kill or surprise the enemy player for a free kill. Usually one will wide peek.

WIDE PEEK — Instead of peeking a portion of the angle the player rushes out way past the angle usually to disrupt enemy crosshair placement then counter-strafing to kill them. Effective when enemy crosshair is close to the wall.

JIGGLE/SHOULDER PEEK — Peeking an angle just enough to gain information and bait enemy shots. Could be used to bait abilities. In Valorant this is much more dangerous due to the extreme slow when hit by bullets.

COUNTER-STRAFE —Tap the move key opposite to where you are going to stop immediately, giving you complete accuracy rather than moving while shooting.

CROSSFIRE — Two teammates line up an angle so that they both see the enemy player at the same time making it very difficult for the enemy to peek and kill.

DINK/GOOSH— Head-shot but the enemy doesn’t die.

LIT/TAGGED/HIT — Jett LIT/TAGGED/HIT 60 meaning Jett took 60 damage.

DROP ME — Buy me a weapon

PREFIRE — Shooting where you think someone is or about to be as they come. (Game sense, sound, information)

HEAVEN/HELL — Heaven is a callout for any high elevated area. Hell is directly underneath it.

PLAY FOR PICKS/DEFAULT— Attackers spread out to entrances watching holding map control and watching for aggressive defenders to pick off. Baiting out utility (smokes, flashes etc) before deciding what they want to do.

RED: Default start areas. WHITE: Peek areas

TAP THE BOMB — Literally tap the defuse key to start defuse then immediately stop defusing to look for an enemy. (bait them out)
KEY: Don’t make footsteps after tapping so enemy doesn’t know.

STICK THE BOMB— Commonly for defuse the bomb and KEEP defusing or sometimes planting.

PLANT FOR “x”— Plant the bomb in a way that allows you to defend from “x”. Example Haven A site plant for long means that the bomb and defuser will be easily seen and shot from A long.

SAFE PLANT — Planting the bomb in the safest area possible to ensure a bomb plant. Usually a spot that can’t be seen from any entry to the site.

DEFAULT PLANT— The most common place to plant the bomb.

PLAY THE BOMB —Don’t play aggressively and look for the enemy instead wait for them to come and start retaking/tap the bomb.

PLAY FOR TIME — Waste as much of the enemy time as possible as they can’t plant/defuse in time safely. Still can lose the round if you fight and die.

GLASS CANNON — Buying an Operator when you can’t afford armor with it. (To be honest, no aim punch unless you get head-shot in this game so for me it’s not that bad)

Thanks for reading, I’ll have more tutorials incoming here and from my YT channel. I hope this helped, have a great day!
