Respond in writing, saying you will cover his legal fees provided that he compensates you and your executive team for the time he wasted.

Include a bill for triple the amount he wants you to pay.

In your cover letter, tell him failure to respond in writing within five calendar days of receipt will be deemed as acceptance of your terms — including the right to release all information (at your discretion) exchanged during the negotiation.
