I’m surprised that people are still having the philosophical debate about ‘when life begins’. Because it actually doesn’t matter; one’s personal philosophy about ‘when life begins’ is irrelevant. Abortion was, and is, an entirely political issue: Can you tell a woman what to do with her body? Can you make her carry a baby to term? No. No matter how much your wrangle it, you’ll never come up with a legitimate reason.
In Canada, our Supreme Court finished this debate twenty years ago. Some MPs tried to raise it again, and Trudeau wrote: “The days when old men get to decide what a woman does with her body are long gone. Times have changed for the better”
